Rachelle Hughes

PARALEGAL

“Doing a job halfway? You’ll never get that from me.”

With nine years of paralegal experience and a strong educational background, Rachelle Hughes joined Nichols Zauzig in 2016. Her solid qualifications are enhanced by a personal commitment to always work for the welfare of others.

Rachelle, a native of Long Island, New York, chose to locate in Washington, D.C. in 1997, splitting the difference between home and Lynchburg, Virginia where she also has family, including a twin sister. She’s worked primarily in the D.C. area, and her paralegal experience includes diverse practice areas: personal injury, employment discrimination, foreclosures and family law child abuse cases.

What remains the same in all of her work is Rachelle’s underlying motivation to help others. “Establishing who is wrong and making it right – that’s my purpose in life,” Rachelle says, “it just so happens my niche is in the legal field.” Another guiding principal for Rachelle? High standards.

“I’ve always wanted to be the best paralegal I can be,” she says in describing her impetus for pursuing a master’s degree in paralegal studies from George Washington University. She graduated in 2015. Rachelle holds an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice and a certificate in Paralegal Studies. Organization, exceptionalism, and being there for her clients 24-7 distinguish Rachelle’s work. “Doing a job halfway? You’ll never get that from me,” she says. “I’m that person who, if allowed, would bring my bed to the office!’

Finding her “dream job” at Nichols Zauzig allows Rachelle to fulfill her personal commitment, also a precept of the firm’s culture: “We are a law firm who truly cares about our clients. For us, it’s about helping people.“
