ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

“Many lawyers are great talkers, but they don’t listen as well. You have to be able to listen to what your client really cares about and then tend to it.”

A criminal trial lawyer since leaving law school, Attorney Tracey Lenox concentrates on sex crimes and other violent offenses, as well as a variety of felonies and misdemeanors.

Ms. Lenox joined Nichols Zauzig in 2003 and works primarily in the courts of Northern Virginia, but she appears throughout the state of Virginia and the Federal courts when clients need her help in distant jurisdictions.

Since 1993, Ms. Lenox has defended possession of controlled substances and theft as well as sex offenses, robbery, assault and battery, domestic violence and murder, among others. She is qualified to handle capital cases – those in which the state can impose the death penalty.

Her extensive experience in litigation results in dedicated, creative and vigorous representation for her clients. When the facts or the law indicate that a plea agreement is most beneficial, Ms. Lenox uses every available argument to reach an agreement that minimizes the negative impact on her client.

When the situation requires a trial, Ms. Lenox litigates the case with preparation, skill and focus. For Ms. Lenox, defending the accused is more than a vocation, it is a passion.

She is an active member of criminal and trial lawyer associations, both nationally and in Virginia. For the Prince William County Bar Association, she was named Pro-Bono Attorney of the Year for her work in re-invigorating the So You’re 18 program in area high schools.

In the interests of educating and serving the public, Ms. Lenox offers free initial consultations.

Ms. Lenox is a Northern Virginia native, and has volunteered in the community consistently, including as a friendly visitor for the elderly and 10 years as a youth soccer coach. She is a loyal Baltimore Orioles fan, has visited many World War I battlefields sites and enjoys fine food and wine.
