Sandler named to 2019 “Influential Women of Law” by Virginia Lawyers Weekly

Betty Moore Sandler, with Nichols Zauzig, has been named to the inaugural class of “Influential Women of Law” by Virginia Lawyers Weekly.

This new awards program honors women attorneys and judges for their excellent work on behalf of their clients, their commitment to their communities and their service to the profession. Forty-two women were singled out for this honor, representing all of Virginia.

The honorees will be celebrated at a reception and dinner on Feb. 18 at the Hilton Short Pump in suburban Richmond.

Each honoree also will be profiled in a special supplement that will be distributed at the event and inserted into Virginia Lawyers Weekly in February.

Ms. Sandler is a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL), a past board member of the U.S. Chapter, and served for more than six years on the Admissions Committee. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) and a past President of the Virginia Chapter. She has been recognized by Best Lawyers® since 2006 and, in 2015, she was named the Best Lawyers® Best Lawyer of the Year – Family Law for the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. Ms. Sandler received the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015 from the Family Law Section of the Virginia Bar Association. She has been selected as a Super Lawyer® annually since 2006. Washingtonian Magazine and Northern Virginia Magazine have each repeatedly named Ms. Sandler a Top Lawyer for family law.

Ms. Sandler is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and University of Kentucky College of Law. She is admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court, the Commonwealth of Virginia, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Eastern District of Virginia, the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Virginia, the Commonwealth of Kentucky and U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Kentucky.
