Charles J. Zauzig was inducted to the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL) at their 2018 Spring Meeting in Arizona. ACTL is the leading trial lawyers organization in North America, with membership restricted to just 1% of the total lawyer population of any state or province. Mr. Zauzig was the only attorney from Virginia to be inducted at this event

ACTL is composed of preeminent members of the Trial Bar from the United States and Canada and fellowship is extended only by invitation, after careful investigation, to those experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality.

Although there are currently more than 5,700 Fellows across the U.S. and Canada, membership can never be more than 1% of the total lawyer population of any state or province. Qualified lawyers are called to Fellowship in the College from all branches of trial practice. They are selected from among advocates who represent plaintiffs or defendants in civil proceedings of all types, as well as prosecutors and criminal defense lawyers. The College is thus able to speak with a balanced voice on important issues affecting the administration of justice.

Founded in 1950, the College is an invitation-only fellowship, the College maintains and seeks to improve the standards of trial practice, professionalism, ethics, and the administration of justice through education and public statements on important legal issues relating to its mission. The College strongly supports the independence of the judiciary, trial by jury, respect for the rule of law, access to justice, and fair and just representation of all parties to legal proceedings.
